Funerals, Memorials and Celebrations of a Life

As a celebrant, I have been conducting funerals, memorials and celebrations of a life since 2011, and understand the compassion and sensitivity this difficult time may need.

Whether you’re using the services of a Funeral Director, or organising the celebration of a loved one independently, I’m here to guide you along the way.

The Process

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions, but please feel free to ask me anything not listed below.

Are you affiliated with any religion?

I am agnostic, but respect and appreciate those who may want a religious element included within their service, and am happy to help with this in any way I can.

Pretty much anywhere.  If the casket is present during the service, this may limit your options, however, there are options over and above a crematorium or chapel.

If the casket is not present, you can hold the service anywhere which has the capacity to host an event like this.

The eulogy can be done in a number of ways, such as myself doing it all, or parts of it, alongside friends or family members sharing some specific memories.

This depends on where the service is held.  If it is at a crematorium chapel, they will have a specific time-frame you’re allowed to hold the service, though there is the option sometimes to book a double chapel (so twice the length).  Generally speaking, the crematorium chapels are bookable for 35-45 minutes.

If held at a venue you’ve booked independently, there will be more flexibility with timings.

If you are using a funeral director, then they will help you with this aspect.

If you are holding it independently, I can give you some advice to help you find the right place.

A funeral with a funeral director is $550 incl. gst.

A memorial or celebration of life without a funeral director is $650 incl. gst.
